Daddy and daughter boarding a plane, Hamburg with a Toddler | The Halcyon Years

“Once the travel bug bites there is no known antidote, and I know that I shall be happily infected until the end of my life”

Michael Palin

Jumping on a plane and navigating our way around a new destination has always been one of our absolute favourite things to do. In my twenties we backpacked around Australia and then later on to South East Asia. We travelled around Indonesia for our honeymoon and took a month long holiday driving around America shortly before Ettie arrive.

We’ve dipped our toes in three oceans, set foot on five continents and enjoyed many city breaks in between. We even got married in France navigating our way home across the country in Stu’s Transit.

We are very fortunate to have been to the places we’ve been and don’t want the adventure to stop now we’ve started a family. If anything through my blog I’d like to show you that travelling with a family need not be something to be scared of because there is nothing more magical than seeing the world through a child’s eyes and making memories with them.

I’ve added in depth reviews of all the places we’ve been to TripAdvisor. You can find my profile here:
