W ith the weather getting warmer my thoughts are turning to updating my spring wardrobe. I love shopping, so don’t need much of an excuse to go online and buy something nice. I was having a nosey through the new spring/summer collections yesterday and have noticed some key trends emerging for spring. My favourites being in New Look, Zara, Boden and Top Shop, but JD Williams have a nice new range too. Here are details of a few up and coming trends I’ve noticed for this spring.
White
White seems to be a key look for SS/19, and the white blouse in particular. Ideal for work, but also look great when worn with a pair of denim jeans or dungarees, its the ideal item to have in your wardrobe. There are loads of different cuts available so it shouldn’t be hard to find one that fits your style and if you want something a little more interesting, you could always go for a white blouse with a hint of pattern. I love the Hallie broderie top and polka dot silk shirt, both from Boden.
White Trainers
White trainers are big this season and I’ve seen so many takes on the classic Gucci style within many of the high street stores. Great to wear with jeans, shorts or a midi skirt. They maintain a sense of style when running crazily after a toddler in the Park! Comfortable, stylish and a must for any Mums wardrobe.
Spring Dresses
It is always nice to have a pretty dress or two in your wardrobe. A dress is an instant outfit all in one. You just need to select the right pair of shoes and you are good to go.
If you like the more feminine look, keep an eye out for long floaty dresses made from flowing, light fabrics. There are so many out there to choose from at the moment. I tend to wear mine with little biker boots or my vans to spunk them up a bit, but flat sandals are great too. My favourite outfit at the moment is this red dress from Zara. It has buttons down the front and slit up one side to add extra interest.
The Colour Block Suit
If you prefer wearing trousers, then there are some amazing trouser suits around this year. They are also an all-in-one outfit. Something you can pull out of the wardrobe and put on without having to think too much & there are some really great ones around in a mix of fabrics like velvets and linen. Plus, of course, you can wear them as separates, meaning you have double the potential outfit combinations. The two below are from Boden which have a great selection in at the moment.
Double Denim
Jeans never go out of style. It is just the cuts that come and go. You can still buy skinny jeans. But, in general, the cuts are getting looser. Most retailers are stocking straight and boot cut jeans but I absolutely LOVE my Mom jeans from Zara. They are so comfortable and I wear them with practically everything.
The denim on denim look is going to be very popular for Spring 2019 and I love my denim jacket so am very happy about this.
Blazers and Trench Coats
A denim jacket is good for every day. But, there are occasions you might like something more formal. For warmer days a smart blazer or embroidered jacket could be an option. But macs are also really practical and they are very much back in style. I’m loving my Navy Trench from Boden at the moment.
