The DMK Enzyme Treatment | The Skin Studios

I Imagine looking in the mirror one morning, feeling like you have a jawline akin to droopy the dog. The corners of your mouth having been taking a journey southwards since the day your second baby was born! Imagine then popping along to your local beauty salon, having a relaxing 90 minute facial with a relaxing scalp and arm massage thrown in. You then wake up feeling like your whole face has been to a fitness farm, jawline firmly back in tact and smooth as a babies bum! Sounds great doesn’t it? Well thats what happened to me a couple of weeks ago at the DMK Enzyme Treatment Skin Studios.  I was so impressed with the treatment that I wanted to share my experience with you too.

Regular readers will know, I suffer from dry and sensitive skin. For reasons that I’m yet to get to the bottom of, am prone to breakouts of sore, sensitive red patches around my nose, chin and eyelids. These breakouts really impact the elasticity of my skin. I’ve noticed a marked deterioration in plumpness around my cheeks and jawline since Ollie was born. I’ve no doubt that some of it is down to lack of sleep and dehydration through breastfeeding (I still never drink enough water!). I am hoping that my skin will restore itself once I start looking after myself a bit more. But at the moment when I look in the mirror some days, all I see a wrinkly old prune and it often knocks my confidence as well as my mood.

Luckily for me, Juliet at the Skin Studios in Hove recently introduced a new Enzyme Therapy facial which she wanted me to try. I couldn’t be more impressed with the results!

The DMK Enzyme Facial

DMK Enzyme Treatment Skin Studios. Before and after.

Juliet’s newest treatment, the DMK Enzyme Facial or The Danne Montague King (DMK)The Danne Montague King (DMK) Enzyme Facial is a botanical based skin revision treatment, designed to rapidly restore the health and natural functioning of skin enabling it to perform like it did when it was younger. It’s ideal for Lines / Wrinkles, Pigmentation, Acne, Rosacea and Scarring.

Juliet explained that ageing skin (and other skin problems) are the result of a loss of functioning of the skin. The Enzyme Therapy is designed to restore balance to the skin by simulating facial muscles from WITHIN to increase circulation and oxygen. This botanical process leave the skin firm, healthy, plump and nourished.

But I know what you’re thinking ‘that all sounds fabulous, but does it work?’ Well I hope the pictures on the right show you that it definitely did. The top picture was taken in the morning after cleansing and toning my face. The bottom picture was taken in the van on the way home from the facial. You can see that my whole jaw area is lifted and tightened and that the skin is much brighter in appearance.

The Treatment

The Enzyme Therapy treatment lasts around 90 minutes and is all about the Enzyme mask which is applied to the face by Juliet and left to harden. As it does this, the skin underneath the mask begins to pulsate. This is quite a strange sensation but not painful or uncomfortable. I suppose the best way to describe it would be like a slender-tone for the face (without the weird electrical currents!). The mask is left on for around 35 minutes. During this time Juliet will treat you to a relaxing scalp and arm massage.

While the skin is pulsating, the mask is working to increase circulation, oxygen & stimulate skin cells. By the time the mask is removed you are left with fresh, plump, lifted and rejuvenated skin.

I honestly couldn’t rate this facial highly enough. The wobbly bits on around my chin have been making me really self-conscious. But I could really see a difference in this area from just one treatment. I also felt confident going out in public with no make up on. Sometimes beauty is more about how you feel rather than how you look, and this treatment made my skin feel nourished and bright. So much so that I was happy to sit in a put all afternoon and didn’t even think I was make up free.

If you’d like to know more about the treatment and see it in action, I’ve included a little video in the highlight reel of my Instagram stories (@emmafaith_x) There are also a couple more before and after photos below:

After posting the stories I was asked a couple of questions. So I have popped the answers below for all to see. If you’d like to know more please do let me know.

How fast will I see results? I noticed the results of this facial immediately and walked away feeling 10 years younger. I’d say the results lasted around three weeks. But this is a progressive treatment, so the more often you can have it done, the better the results will be. If you go in for a consultation, Juliet will recommend a course of treatments tailored to your specific skin needs.

Would you have it again? 100%, especially if I was going on holiday or had a special event coming up, this is definitely the facial I would have.

How much does it cost? Treatments are £100 but if you use the code EMMA you will receive 15% off.

Where are the Skin Studios?  The DMK Enzyme Treatment Skin Studios are based within Clinic 33 on Sailsbury Road in Hove. Juliet is a skin specialist. So rather than choosing a one size fits all approach to treat the skin, she uses her knowledge and experience to tailor each facial to your skins individual needs and my face looked really radiant once she was done. This looks really good. I’ve been looking for facials and treatments to help my skin. It’s also very dry and has taken a beating in all this cold weather.

What great results and 3 weeks is a nice amount of time for it to last too isn’t it?

    • 12th April 2019 / 1:33 am

Yeah I thought so, to be honest the smoothness of my skin has lasted a lot longer but the bit around my mouth has sagged again. I think the effects would last longer with a course of treatments? X
