Oh what a lovely August #MagicMonthlySquares

baby sandles, sun tan lotion and sunscreen with bag saying ' chasing the endless summer' I’ve always loved summer. I genuinely find it difficult not to get excited things when the sun is shining. I eat less, shop more, talk more and am an all round better person when the temperature is over 18 degrees, but without a shadow of a doubt this summer has been one of my favourites summers of all time. It’s been the first year we’ve been able to fully enjoy the sunshine with Ettie as she was a little too tiny last year and not too keen on the heat. We’ve had so many adventures in the UK and discovered so many beautiful places that its made me realise you don’t need to venture very at all to have an amazing time, and England is such a beautiful country. I know for sure we’ll be spending many more weekends on the south coast exploring all that Dorset, Devon and Cornwall have to offer. Enjoying summer through a child’s eyes has been such a magical and rewarding experience, it makes me giddy to the stomach thinking of next year when Ettie will be that little bit older.

With that in mind and summer now drawing to a close, I thought it would be a lovely opportunity to reflect on the fun we’ve had over the past months. Flicking though Twitter this morning, I stumbled upon a lovely post by Organised Jo, where she provided a round-up of her top 5 photos on Instagram taken throughout the month of August. Thinking this to be a brilliant idea I’ve jumped on the bandwagon with my own five photos and intend to link up to her forthcoming linky when she gets it off the ground. So here goes:

My Top 5 Instagram Photos for August 2017

In at number five is this image taken of Ettie and I having an evening stroll over the South Downs. With her now going to nursery two days a week, I miss the time we used to spend together so I always make sure that both Stuart and I finish early at least once week so we can take a walk together when we pick her up. This was a beautifully blustery evening up near the Jack and Jill windmills in Sussex. We had loads of fun pretending to chase the sheep and watching the pretty evening colours develop majestically behind the clouds.

In fourth place is this one taken of Ettie sitting on the hay bales when we were camping at Eweleaze Farm, in Dorset. It was the last day of our holidays and the boys were playing cricket so Ettie and I decided to jump upon a haybale to sit and watch them. I love how cheeky she looks with her little hairband in.

In third place we have this one taken of Ettie and I at Camber Sands in East Sussex. It was the her first proper experience of a true sandy beach as we’d tried to take her to Weymouth earlier in the month but it was too busy so she didn’t get chance to properly run around. Camber was beautiful but we were cleaning the sand out of our ear lobes for weeks!!!

In second place we have a carousel of photos of Stuart and Ettie throwing pebbles on the beach at Eweleaze Farm. She was SOOOOO excited!!! I absolutely love her facial expressions and the fact that her Daddy makes her so happy.

And finally in First place for August 2017 is another picture taken and Eweleaze Farm and actually another carousel of photos, but this time only two. These are a couple of photos of Ettie and I on the same beach in Dorset and we are wearing the same yellow jacket and stripey top. I absolutely love these photos as I think it shows how unbelievably happy she makes me and how we’re like two peas in a pod. She’ll probably hate me for dressing us the same when she’s older, but if you can’t do things to embarrass your children now while they have no choice, whats the point of even taking photos πŸ˜‰

So there you go, that’s my top five, thanks again Jo for coming up with the idea. Which ones were your favourites? If you’re not already following me on Instagram, I would love to see you there.

Until next month
